PERSONALITY:
The first thing you notice when you meet dear Mikaela, is the confidence she exudes. Growing up the way she has, has given her a self assurement and she isn't afraid to be extroverted and outgoing. Through this, it may be known that she can be very stubborn, and once she has her mind set on something she won't change it. She doesn't hesitate to break the rules of propriety, and she's very straight forward. Mikaela is also, above many other things, a complete and total flirt. She loves to walk into a room, bat those pretty eyes of hers, and hit on any guy that she deems worthy. Of course, Mikaela’s expectations in men are high, so if she hits on you, then you should consider yourself lucky. Just because Mikaela’s a flirt, though, doesn’t mean that she’s a slut. No, no, no, not at all. Sure, she’s been here and there a couple of times, but never with a guy she didn’t know. Mikaela believes that when it comes to affairs of the heart, don't do them. Affairs cause nothing but drama. Plus, under any circumstance, she really doesn't need anyone who is taken. Mikaela has limits, even with flirting.
The eighteen year old girl has a heart of gold. Believe it or not, Mikaela can be incredibly sweet. Few ever see it though, because few ever get to know her that well. She’s one of those types that will defend her own. She’s there for them when they need her, and she’s always ready to stand up for them if the time comes. Mikaela is also always one hundred percent of the time backing up her friends. She is a great friend to have, because she will never let you down. She's faithful to one's oath, commitments, or obligations, and she's incredibly loyal towards the people she loves. Although Mikaela can be a dove, she can also be your worst nightmare. Luckily, this side of her is rarely present. You see, Mikaela can’t be mean. She can be so nasty it’ll take your breath away - for good. But as long as you stay on her good side, you'll never see her in this shade of light. But once you backstab her, or show disloyalty, it'll cause her to release the inner ice queen that every young woman has inside her. She'll freeze you to the bone, because it's only what a classy woman would do, and if she has anything serious to her name, it is her class.
Mikaela is extremely outgoing. She has spent her entire life mingling with strangers and talking with people that she doesn’t even know. She’s not afraid to just be who she is, because she loves who she is, and she’d be the first person to walk up to a new kid at school. She’ll talk to just about anyone who will listen, and she’s really never been one to hide something. She’s never crossed the line of crazy, because you’d rarely see her at a wild, drunken party, but she has been to a club or party from time to time, but she’s never gotten carried away. Mikaela’s got a brilliant, happy, glowing personality about her, at times, and she’s capable of making just about anyone smile. She simply lets the world see who she is, and by doing so she let’s the world see what she’s capable of being.
What is love? An emotion? Or something uncontrollable that it can't be dominated? Mikaela Vanderbilt is a girl who likes to feel controlling and the thought of something affecting her - like love - scares her. So the minute guys get too close, she'll push them away. She's not usually girlfriend material, but she'll try and experience with boyfriends from time to time. She's not very promiscuous, but to think that she could be hurt by an emotion - or broken hearted, really panics her. But in her eyes, she's young. She's always going to be the temptress Mikaela Sofia Vanderbilt, and love isn't going to change her as a person. At least, she hopes it won't. Maybe it'd calm her down, who knows?
FAMILY:
nathaniel vanderbilt - deceased
stella vanderbilt - socialite
HISTORY:
Nathaniel and Stella Vanderbilt's relationship was one that was filled with romantic heat and passion; love blooming into their eyes. Nathaniel eventually became a successful lawyer, seeming to have a gift for prosecuting, while Stella turned to her family fortune to make her money. Stella was from a family with old money, so financially, they never had problems. It didn’t take long for Stella to conceive her first child, the nine months going by very quickly. She was lucky however, because Mikaela Vanderbilt was born right on time, and smaller than the average child. The little girl was soon to light up both of their lives in more ways than one. In her eyes, those electric blue eyes, there was something so fresh that they could hardly stand it. There was something about her that just radiated with life, though superficial reasons did drive them. They were a family that had wealth and money, so they insisted on having the best for Mikaela no matter what. But they also didn't want her to turn into a spoiled, self-centered brat, either. It was from a very young age, though, that Mikaela was different. She was a well behaved child, though one that was as curious as ever, crawling around and reaching for things, putting even the most acclaimed child proof locks to the test. There were more than several occasions where they were rushed to the emergency room, once when the little girl accidently sucking her hand into the vacuum cleaner, and once again when she fell off the dresser and cracked her head open.[/ul]
Still, the little girl remained to be the pride and joy in their lives, their relationship standing the ties of her curiosity. They resided in Ontario, and they couldn't have been happier. Mikaela was a very normal child, doing just as her parents asked when they asked it. Mikaela was more than pleased as she grew older and learned to understand her life. She was always very naïve when it came to the ways of the world beyond her head, always so careless to the things that meant the most. It may have been for this reason, and for this reason only, as to why the death of her father was such a surprise.
She was thirteen when her father died, shattering her world of fairy tales and prince charmings. She was blasted into a reality that even she could not understand, and as she usually did, she was curious as to why. It was hard to undestand, how little her mother talked about her father's dead. Mikaela had known about her father's cancer, but the doctor thought it wasn't very serious. They also figured he had more time than expected. But just a month after Mikaela's thirteenth birthday, Nathaniel Vanderbilt lost his battle with cancer. She didn’t show it much, but Mikaela was devastated. She would have fallen apart if it wasn’t for the fact that her mother was a complete wreck. After the funeral, Stella would only go to work, come home with take out for Mikaela, and then go to bed. She did the basic things a mother needed to do, and that was it.
As a mechanism to grieve over her father's death, Mikaela began to take dancing lessons. She had always been a fluid, delicate mover, so she took to dancing very quickly and became quite good. Dancing made it easier to forget her father's death, and every-time she danced, she just felt like a happier person all-together. But as soon as she stopped dancing, the feelings of pain and grief would come crashing back to her, all at once. Regardless, she excelled rapidly in all her dance classes. She spent all her free time perfecting her craft, spending hours and hours in the dance studio after school. To obtain more experience, she has even decided to attend Camp Rock, where she will not only dance, but sing as well. She has been sining since she was a little girl, so it's nothing unfamiliar to Mikaela. But dancing is definitely her main focus, and she's ready to exceed at Camp Rock, regardless of what she has to do to be the best.

ROLEPLAYING EXAMPLE:
Dazed blue eyes looked distantly as the morning sunshine flooded out the shadows in Mikaela Vanderbilt's room. Her tangled and muddled locks of golden undertones laid lifeless against her Egyptian cotton pillow as she released a long contemplative sigh, her gaze averted towards the open window. She could've remained amidst the warmth and comfort of her bed all morning, but she had things to do, and she didn't have much time to finish them. With a groggy groan and a winkled forehead, Mikaela lazily crawled out of bed, the cold hardwood floor piercing her toes as she slowly stood up. Several yawns escaped her parted lips as she searched for something suitable to wear amidst the clutter in her room. Clothes were strewn everywhere across her room, making it undeniably difficult to find something both clean and unwrinkled. To say the least, Mikaela wasn't a very organized or neat person. At all. Sure, the girl would clean her room when she'd have friends over, but keeping her room clean for the sake of her sanity was simply not her highest priority. But alas, after a few minutes of searching and rummaging, she stumbled across an outfit that met her high stylish standards: a black, form-fitting dress with blue and gold embellished accents, blue caged heels, and a bluish-green purse to finish off the look. Mikaela always dressed to impress. Always. Regardless of the occasion, she always had to look her best. Whether she was simply going to the public library, or going out to a party, there'd be no doubt that Mikaela would put together a damn good-looking outfit.[/ul]
Without bothering to tame her wild tresses, Mikaela simply pulled back the first layer of her hair before quickly applying some makeup. The girl had never been the type to spend hours getting ready in the morning. In her opinion, being natural is the most attractive, so why spend hours covering up that natural beauty? It just didn't make sense to her. Mikaela also rarely bothered to tame her golden locks, simply because it was pointless. Her hair, no matter how many products or brushes she used, would always look wildly tousled. So why even bother? Nevertheless, once Mikaela glanced at her reflection in the mirror and dubbed herself ready, she sashayed out the door and into the beautiful outdoors. The fresh air hit her lungs like a ton of bricks, but it felt good nonetheless. It had felt like ages since Mikaela had last ventured onto the campus, so she couldn't help but let a smile creep across her lips as she walked towards the public library. She wasn't expecting to recognize anyone, to be honest. Most students her age didn't take advantage of the public library, so she rarely ever recognized anyone. Except for the typical nerds and geeks, of course. But Mikaela wouldn't call herself a nerd. Sure, she cared about school and her grades, but she definitely wouldn't label herself as a school geek.
In roughly ten minutes, Mikaela arrived at the public library. It wasn't a far walk, though it had felt much longer since she had been accompanied by a pair of heels. Probably not a smart comfort decision, but fashion wise, it had been the best option. Without hesitation, she sure footed into the library, ignoring the stares she received as she entered the quiet dwelling. She couldn't help her ignorance, it was a trait most of her family just accepted. Her eyebrows knit together softly and her blue eyes gazed expectantly as she searched for a place to sit. It was then that she saw a head of adorable brown hair that she instantly recognized. Mikaela grinned her devilish grin, surprised to see Greg Dalton at the library, of all places. But she was definitely pleased to see him. She hadn't seen him in ages, and she had missed the cute boy and his easy-going demeanor. With a flip of her hair, Mikaela sashayed over towards Greg and sat down in front of him, flashing him her famous mischievous grin as she did so. "Miss me?" she purred, a small string of giggles escaping her lips as she spoke. But then she realized the thoughtful, contemplative expression on his face, and her smile soon transformed into a small grown. "Is something wrong?" she asked promptly, her eyebrows wrinkled as she spoke. She hated to see her friends in distress, and if there was any way she could help Greg out, she'd do it. Whether he needed someone to talk to, or someone to simply take his mind off of whatever he was thinking about it, Mikaela would happily volunteer for the position.
