Tears streamed down Katherine’s face as she walked through the camp, every feeling from guilt for not believing Ethan when he told her, to anger at Neveah for betraying her and hooking up with her now ex-boyfriend. The moment Kat caught sought of Neveah leaving his room her heart had completely shattered and life as she knew it was over. By the time she had fully recovered from the sight Neveah was long gone and she had decided she couldn’t deal with it at the moment turned and walked away. There was nothing more that Kat wanted then to turn back and go and punch the guy in the face, but she had already decided it wasn’t worth it, and would deal with it later. The seventeen year old took a deep breath for a moment trying to stop herself from crying and soon enough her tears slowed. She hated crying, especially in front of people and she had noticed a few people stare after her like they were watching a show. Kat quickly whipped her tear drenched face and rolled her eyes. ‘this is pathetic.’ She thought to herself as she continued down the path she was on and went up the steps of her Cabin and sat for a while not bothering to go inside.
Too say that she felt sick was an understatement, it was almost as if a truck had come and hit her in the chest, it hurt so much. ‘Why would he do this to me>’ she silently asked herself as she leaned against the poll by the stairs. She ran a hand through her dark hair for a moment as she tried to figure it out. Sure she didn’t think she’d be with the guy forever, but she never thought he would cheat on her and with Neveah, one of her best friends no less. Neveah. Now she finally saw how much an annoyance the girl was. Katherine knew she was flirting with him, she saw it and at first she had talked to Neveah about it, but after a while she ignored it. She promised she wouldn’t do anything, and Kat being naïve, and believing in the good in the world believed her. She was defiantly not in Texas anymore, In Texas her and Breland had owned the school, they were pretty and popular and talented, but here, it was completely different, and it didn’t look like that was going to change anytime soon.
Kat didn’t know how long she had been sitting there, and she didn’t care, but it was starting to get cold so she stood up to head inside to wallow in self pity. She quickly opened the door to her cabin and headed inside noticing the absence of her room mate and was thankful. It was probably all over camp by now. Kat glanced at the clock as she sat on her bed and noticed that dinner had already started in the mess hall, but she didn’t feel like going, hell she wasn’t even sure Ethan was going to forgive her for calling him a liar when he was clearly right. She wasn’t in the mood to pretend that she was fine, or throw fakes smiles at people and act like everything was fin, she just wanted to be alone. Kat sighed as she lied down on her bed and buried her face into her pillow crying over her broken heart. - i realized that sucked, but it'll get better.

He hated arguing with Kat he couldn't see anything worse than it but he wasn't going to stand back and watch her get her heart broken... He had to tell her and take any consequences that came with it even if that meant losing his best friend because of some guy. He hoped she'd see sense one day and figure it out and figure out that the guy who is perfect for her is the one who has been there since the beginning but if she couldn't see that then he wasn't completely sure that he could tell her. When he'd left Kat to check it out for herself he'd walked down to the lake he had so many levels of anger surging through his body but he couldn't get kicked out, he couldn't punch the guy square in his face that just wasn't how he wanted to be, besides who would Kat have if he got kicked out? He just needed some time to calm down, he threw rocks angrily watching them skim across the water, by the time he'd managed to calm himself enough to be able to look at the guy without murdering him, he would only want to for now.
He realised it was time for dinner so had promptly made his way towards the mess hall to get himself some dinner and then go to bed and hopefully things would be back to normal tomorrow, any normality he could get. When he reached the mess hall he quickly scanned around for Kat, he knew that if she wasn’t at dinner then there was certainly something to worry about. He spotted her sisters but not her and he spotted the two who had been responsible for her heart break, he threw his half full tray against the counter leaving the hall. He couldn’t possibly even consider eating in the same room as those two and he couldn’t eat thinking that Kat was somewhere breaking her heart. It bothered even if they were in the middle of a disagreement she was still his best friend and he wasn’t willing to let her go through it alone.
He thought long and hard about where could possibly be hiding? Her cabin was probably the best bet since her room mate was out but he kept his eye on other locations just in case he couldn’t find her there, he reached the cabin and inside he immediately heard sobbing, his heart sank upon hearing it. He took a deep breath outside the door, he was going to have to be there for her there was no way she was getting through this without him and he knew that but it was kinda hard to know that she only needs him when other guys aren’t around. Could he really cope with being second best all of the time?
He didn’t bother to knock on the door he just walked straight in seeing her with her head buried in a pillow, his instincts immediately kicked in and he moved to sit by the side of her rubbing a hand up and down in her back in an attempt to comfort her. “I’m sorry you had to see that… It was the only way I could convince you how much of a scumbag he actually is.” He spoke softly wondering if she could actually hear him above the tears. It broke his heart seeing her like this any anger her felt towards her over anything immediately melted the moment he saw her like this. She had loved him more than anything and although it hurt to think of it that way it was true.

Depression, a ten letter word that by definition meant a mental state characterized by a pessimistic sense of inadequacy and a despondent lack of activity. Depression can destroy the very essence of a teenager’s personality, causing an overwhelming sense of sadness, despair, or anger, but knowing facts about depression and being depressed were completely different things as Kat Hunter was now discovering. It was the most painful thing she could possibly be going through right now, but to top it off she'd managed to piss off her best friend in the process. Kat and Ethan had been best friends since the first grade when LaRon Jackson was teasing her about her and her sisters being alien clones from outer-space and Ethan pushed him off the swing at recess and got yelled at and assigned detention by their teacher Mrs. Cox.. since then Kat had never lied to him, or distrusted him and told him everything, but the one time he needed her to believe him she'd yelled at him and called him a liar.
"I am such a good friend." she muttered sarcastically to herself as she cried into her pillow. She couldn't believe she had the nerve to distrust what he had told her, not only that, but she yelled at him. Katherine never yelled and everyone knew that, she was the sweet one, and left the yelling to Breena, but the one time she had yelled it had been at Ethan and that was the most horrible thing she could have done in her opinion. She wouldn't blame him if he decided to never speak to her again. Kathrine ran a hand through her hair as she lied down on her bed wallowing in self pity and felt ashamed of herself. She deserved whatever she got, she deserved to be cheated on, she deserved to be betrayed by Neveah and she deserved to have Ethan angry with her she was a horrible person for treating him the way she had.
Kat herd the cabin door swing open, but she ignored it figuring it was only Carter coming to convince her to come to dinner. In truth she figured it wasn't all over the camp because Neveah didn't even see her when she was leaving his room to go to dinner. Kat felt her bed dip and waited for whoever it was to speak and attempt to make her tell them what happened and if it was Carter or one of her sisters she was ready to kick whomever it was out for the night so she could be alone to wallow. “I’m sorry you had to see that… It was the only way I could convince you how much of a scumbag he actually is.” She herd him say softly as he rubbed her back comfortingly and she cried harder for a moment. This she defiantly didn't deserve she was a horrible friend and honestly she didn't deserve his comfort.
after a few moments of silence Kats tears finally slowed and she finally whipped her tears and turned over looking up at him sadly. She was sure she looked like a total mess and her hair was probably a complete disaster, but it was Ethan so she didn't care. Kat just starred at him for a moment, before sitting up and wrapping her arms around his neck in a hug. "I'm sorry, I'm so, so, sorry. You shouldn't even be nice to me I am a horrible friend, if you're going to yell at me then I deserve it and I'm really sorry, because you're my best friend and I should have just believed you." Kat explained as she hugged him and pulled away when she was finished to look at him.

He was slightly worried about what he would find coming into her cabin? Would he find her angry? Upset? Maybe even injured he didn't know but he had been prepared for anything, he was determined to support his best friend no matter what happened. Even if he walked in there and she threw a punch in his face, he was not willing to stand back and watch he would support her whether she wanted that to happen or not. He practically felt his heart break when he saw her... She looked a mess there was no denying that, this had completley trashed her. He frowned as he felt her cry harder... Why was she crying more? He thought he was helping her by doing this... What was he doing wrong? He ran his hand up and down her back faster hoping to suceed in calming her down even slightly.
He watched as she turned around holding his hand away from her, he wasn't going to do any inappropriate gestures... The last thing she needed was more complications with a guy, his suspicions about her being a mess were right, but she still looked incredibly beautiful to him. Any girl wished she could look as good as Kat on their worst day, no girl ever came into comparison for him, sure some were pretty but none matched the standards of Kat. He wrapped his strong arm around her waist pulling her close to him as his other hand continued to rub her back, he closed his eyes for a few second, the feeling of her closer to him felt amazing.
Ever since they'd stopped seeing each other he'd been waiting for this moment to occur where she would be back with him in his arms. He heard her talk and listened without interruption her words weren't needed, he knew she was sorry and he didn't care anyway any bad feelings were gone. When she pulled away he smiled lightly at her reassuring her that he wasn't upset. "You should have... I'd never purposely try to break you up with anybody not unless I was sure...But it's okay I understand, you don't have to apologise i'm gonna be here whenever you need me." [/b] He smirked taking her hand into his, he pulled it to her lips and kissed the top softly. It was innocent between them, he knew that she felt nothing upon feeling him kiss it and he hated that facted more than anything. "Do you want me to go and get you some food and bring it back here before they stop serving... You'll probably regret it later..."[/b] He thought that maybe food would be good for both of them and even for a few moments it might take her mind off of the current state her life was even, if only for a few seconds. He wrapped his arm around her pulling her closer to urge to comfort her surpassed any other urge. He remembered when she was younger even seeing her upset for a few seconds had sent him into a rage and that was over dumb things like someone calling her ‘poo poo face’ or something. He had always been naturally protective of her and nothing was changing right now he couldn’t honestly see himself never being there for her. Even if they didn’t talk for years and he got a call saying that she needed him he’d be there in record time just to see her and talk to her even if it was something that could have easily been fixed at any other stage. To say that Katherine was a bit scared would have been the understatement of the year. She was absolutely terrified above everything else she was feeling. For weeks she had been choosing her stupid ex-boyfriend over her best friend, she had ignored him and blown him off and she had even yelled at him and called him a liar only about an hour ago. If there was anything she wanted at the moment was for him to forgive her, even though she more than didn’t deserve it. After everything she had done to him because of that stupid guy, if she was in his position she wouldn’t have forgiven her either. She’d been a horrible friend to him and that was completely unacceptable in Kat’s opinion. Ethan had been there for her, cared for her, listened to her complain about her sisters, listened to her complain about guys, and stupid girl things that she didn’t even care about all that much for years and years, and years and this was how she repaid him. Katherine tucked some of her dark hair behind her ear as she looked up at him waiting for him to say something anything.
"You should have... I'd never purposely try to break you up with anybody not unless I was sure...But it's okay I understand, you don't have to apologize I’m gunna be here whenever you need me." he told her with a smirk taking her hand into his; he pulled it to her lips and kissed the top softly. Kat couldn’t help the light blush that run up the back of her neck, but ignored it none the less. She sat thinking about what he said for a moment and was a bit confused. Not only was he acting like he wasn’t mad at her, which she was pretty sure he had to be just a little bit, but unless he was sure of what? Katherine ran her free hand through her dark hair thinking to herself for a moment as she looked at him and decided to let it go. ‘It’s probably nothing anyway.’ She thought to herself shaking her head.
"Do you want me to go and get you some food and bring it back here before they stop serving... You'll probably regret it later..." He asked her before wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her closer to him. She missed this, and missed hanging out with him and his hugs that were just purely Ethan. Kat Smiled to herself for a moment as she laid her head on his chest for a moment, but it wasn’t like it used to be, it was better. After a moment of silence Katherine pulled away from him and sat cross legged on her bed just watching him for a moment, thanking the Lord, if there was a Lord, she still wasn’t sure about that, that she had him as a friend.
After a moment she got tired of just looking at him and got off of her bed going to her trunk for a moment and riffling through it for a few moments. Finally she pulled out a large bag of hot Cheetos puffs, Oreo’s and peanut butter, along with cherry coke and sprite and set it on the bed beside him before hopping back onto it a smile on her face. “So it’s not real food like at dinner, but its food none the less, so unless you really want to make a long, long trip back up there this is all I have… well this and beef jerky, but that's in my emergency emergency stash.” She said with a smile and a roll of her eyes. She always had food just in case of emergencies or other things. Kat reached over and opened the Oreo’s and taking one out, before opening the peanut butter and dipping it in. She didn’t know why, but that was the only way she would eat an Oreo. After a moment she looked up at him a still a bit confused.
“Why aren’t you mad at me? You of all people have every right to hate me, I’ve acted like a bossy, selfish, spoiled, know it all… I've been acting like... well Brenna to be honest.” She said that last part with a small smile of her face, but it wasn’t the time to insult her lovely sister. Kat’s smile dropped after that and gave Ethan a sincere and apologetic look. “You have every right to yell at me, and tell me how stupid I was being, I mean really I blew you off, you shouldn’t let me off easy you should at least insult me a little.” She told him before giving him a smile. He had every right in the world to insult her and she was not going to let him let her off easy, just because they were best friends.

He was slightly shocked that she would even consider for a second that she wouldn’t forgive him the thing about Ethan was that he was easily ready to forgive and forget. He understood that people made stupid mistakes and he wasn’t willing to let Kat’s mistake effect him as well, the truth was he was more mature than his age dictates, he believed that you may only have a short time with a person and you shouldn’t waste time arguing. Sure he’d let it get to him just a little bit but now he was over it, it was a part of the past a dark part but still it was in the past and he wasn’t willing to dwell on it any longer. Of course there was a part of him that just couldn’t stop thinking of how he was right and congratulating his judgement on people but of course Kat wasn’t going to hear about this part not until years from now. The last thing she needed was Ethan turning all ‘I told you so hahaha!’ he was more considerate than that besides if she was crying being right was the last thing that was on his mind. Afterall he wasn’t that much of a jerk.
He watched her reaction carefully to his words and he noticed a confused expression crossing her face, he scolded himself for a feeling a need to comment on how cute she looked when she pulled that face even with her hair messed up and her eyes red from the tears she was still breathtakingly beautiful, if only he was brave enough to tell her that… Maybe if he was brave enough none of this would have happened… They would have been a couple and he would be taking real good care of her. He was confused as she pulled away worried incase she was going to run out on him or something but instead she walked over to a trunk…. What was she going to pull out… Maybe she was doing a magic trick he smirked to himself at the thought hoping it was the beheading trick with that loser and maybe it could go wrong… His eyes widened as he watched her bring all of the food over. “Woah…. I wondered where the entire contents of your fridge went… Turns out it’s here.” He examined all of the food. So it wasn’t a hot meal or even proper food but he could deal and if it meant he got to spend more tiem with Kat he was definetley game. He reached for the cheetos opening them and starting to eat some.
He shook his head as she dipped the oreo in the peanut butter laughing lightly. It was such an odd thing to do, he’d tried it once but it was certainly not his style, it tasted like a salty biscuit which he certainly wasn’t down for but he’d gone past being weirded out by it because he was so used to it. He was relieved to see that she was cheering up a bit and he was succeeding in helping her. He’d been worried about how this would turn out, he listened to her ask why he wasn’t mad and explain all the things she was. True she had probably behaved exactly that way but he was looking at it through rose coloured glasses, he heard her mention her sister and smirked. “I don’t you could ever be that bad.” His smirked assured her that he was completely joking, he dusted his hands off as she was going to answer her question seriously. “You’re my best friend Kat. If I was going to let moments like that ruin everything I don’t think we’d still be friends. We all make stupid mistakes but I’m not willing to let that ruin years of amazing friendship” He nodded his head as he spoke he felt strongly about that, a few bad weeks were not going to cancel years of an amazing friendship even he was smart enough to do the math on that one.
He sighed as she continued on about how he should be insulting her and yelling at her. Did she not understood that it was never ever going to happen she could wait a very long time, but she figured she had to do something to get her to stop worrying about it he thought about it for a few seconds reaching a conclusion. “Okay you really want all of that? Right then. Kat you were stupid, you should of listened to me I’m wise, you made a huge mistake, you put a guy before our friendship but none of that even matters because you’re my best friend and I’ve got your back no matter what.” As a final point he put his finger in the peanut butter scooping some up and placing it on the end of her nose as she laughed at the sight licking the remainder from his own finger. “And peanut butter is not your colour.” He smirked hoping that this would instigate more fun stuff and less of Kat being upset. He hated seeing her upset completely.

Just as she had gotten up from the bed Kat’s stomach growled in annoyance and she rolled her eyes. She was always hungry it was actually kind of irritating sometimes, but it was always fun to eat with someone, especially if that someone was Ethan. Kat ran a hand through her hair as she rummaged through her trunk and rolled her eyes at how messy it was, and noticed there were a few things of her sisters that they had probably put in there when they didn’t have enough room in their own suitcases. She realized how much stuff the three of them had brought together and figured that they probably wouldn’t even need half of it. When she gathered all of the food she needed she went back over to the bed happily.
"Whoa…. I wondered where the entire contents of your fridge went… Turns out its here. [/color]” Ethan said to her jokingly of course and she stuck her tongue out at him. How could she have ever chosen a moron over him? She asked herself as she opened the bag of Oreo’s and smiled to herself. If she could go back in time without knowing what she knew she wasn’t sure if she would have done the same thing, but it was highly unlikely. Her friendship with Ethan was too important to ruin twice in a row, and she was pretty sure she would know that if she did happen to go back in time some how. “ Oh yeah, real funny Ethan,” She told him with a roll of her deep brown eyes and gave him a smile. It was so good to have her best friend back, she did however feel a tad guilty for the way she had been treating him lately. She once again ran a hand through her dark hair, as she dipped her Oreo into the delicious peanut butter. She knew Ethan thought that it was gross, but at least he had stopped complaining about it after the hundredth time she’d done it. it was a delicious combination in the first place, and since she was hungry it tasted ten times better than it would have if she wasn’t, and she was thankful for that. Then after a moment she just had to ask him and insult her sister while she did it, even though that wasn’t the point of it and waited anxiously waiting for him to answer her. “ I don’t you could ever be that bad.” He started with a smirk and Kat giggled a bit rolling her eyes and gesturing for him to continue. “ You’re my best friend Kat. If I was going to let moments like that ruin everything I don’t think we’d still be friends. We all make stupid mistakes but I’m not willing to let that ruin years of amazing friendship” He nodded his head as he spoke and Kat smiled at him. It did make a lot of since, and she felt a bit more pathetic for thinking that he could ever really be angry with her in such a way. They were best friends and even when they got into a fight it only lasted about five seconds before they both caved at the same time. They had been friends for too long to let anything happen to that friendship and Kat defiantly would never let herself loose his friendship. If he had yelled at her or been angry with her she would have but tackled him to the ground apologized until he forgave her. “Okay you really want all of that? Right then. Kat you were stupid, you should of listened to me I’m wise, you made a huge mistake, you put a guy before our friendship but none of that even matters because you’re my best friend and I’ve got your back no matter what.” He explained to her and Kat couldn’t help, but smile at that. When he dipped his finger in the peanut butter she gave him a confused look, until her he whipped It on her nose and licked the rest off his finger. “ And peanut butter is not your color.” He added playfully and the girl rolled her eyes at him amused, before laughing. “ You are so going to pay for that Ethan.” She said while she laughed and before he could do anything she tackled him on her bed and rubbed the peanut butter on her nose into his neck until it was off of her nose, before the licking the side of his neck and getting off of him. Kat sat back in her spot against the head board of her bed and grabbed the bag of hot Cheetos taking a few. She gave Ethan a casual smile and continued to eat as if she hadn’t just done that.
