the woods were haunted, that's what some of the more experienced campers had told a group of new kids as they wandered through the camp rock gates and began to wander around. apparently there were ghosts of lost explorers stuck in there, their souls unable to get out because their bodies never did either. sure, everything looked fine and dandy during the daytime, when you could see the branches and the wooden bridge that carried you over a section of mud, but night was another story all together. at night was when the ghosts came out to play, ready to help you get as lost and confused as they had been when they had entered on that fateful night. and if they catch you, there's no hope that you will ever get out alive.
of course, mitchie wasn't one to believe old ghost stories that had been handed down from camper to camper, a story meant to make everyone a little uneasy and enjoy their campfire more on opening night. of course, camp rock wasn't just a summer camp. it was all about the music, and that was why mitchie torres had been begging her parents to let her come. she wanted to be able to have an entire summer of nothing but music, in a place where like minded individuals were sure to be. she and her mother had arrived only a short time ago, but once everything had been unloaded from the van, she had quickly decided to go out exploring and hadn't said much to her mother on her way out the door.
glancing at the people around her, mitchie couldn't help but feel excited. this was going to be the best summer ever, even if it meant having to help her mother in the kitchens everyday. that still meant that she was here, with other people that she could share and appreciate music with. nobody back home had understood, well, save for one person, and other then that she had been an outcast. nobody had really gotten the whole music thing, and so most of them just left her to her vices. but that was all worth it now, because after weeks of taping camp rock brochures to the vaccum, throwing them in the fridge and stuffing her mother's shoes with them, she was finally here.
this was going to be the best summer ever.
